Board Members

As a top realtor in Richmond Patti is passionately committed to the community she has lived and worked in since 1987. She believes strongly in active community membership. Dedicated to giving back, Patti has been the organizer for the Richmond Christmas fund Realtor Challenge for a number of years. She was president of the Richmond Ravens Female Hockey for eight years and acted as past president to support a smooth transition. She is also a proud supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation along with many other local causes she supports both financially or with time. She believes strongly in the Pathways Clubhouse and looks forward to working with others towards eliminating the stigma around mental illness.

Michael has worked in the telecommunications field for over 35 years. He held various positions at Telus/BC Tel prior to launching Lite Access Technologies in 2005 and ultimately taking it public. He is a graduate of British Columbia Institute of Technology and has completed 50+ telecommunication, engineering and business courses over the past 20 years. As well, Michael has completed the Public Companies Course– Financing, Governance and Compliance at Simon Fraser University. He currently sits on the Board of the Economic and Development Board for the City of Richmond. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and Business development.

Yolanda brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the vision and purpose of Pathways Clubhouse. Throughout her career, Yolanda has been dedicated to the local community and public service. She has held key board positions with the Richmond Association of Montessori and the United Way where she demonstrated a passion for strategic planning, community outreach, and good governance.

Yolanda is the Chief Operating Officer of the BC Utilities Commission, an administrative tribunal and economic regulator for ensuring British Columbians receive safe and reliable energy services at just and reasonable rates. The organization also ensures that ICBC’s compulsory insurance rates are set in an adequate, efficient, just, and reasonable manner.

For the past 29 years, Karen has worked for the Richmond School District with over 25 years as a Business Assistant. In the early 2000’s she experienced some mental health challenges and became a member of Pathways Clubhouse. Karen joined the Board of Directors in 2003 and has been the Secretary during her entire term. She has also represented Pathways Clubhouse at various regional and international conferences, speaking about how the Clubhouse has supported her to return to work.

Chief Superintendent Dave Chauhan is the Officer in Charge of the Richmond RCMP, where he leads one of the country’s largest and most diverse police detachments. With over three decades of policing experience across British Columbia, he is deeply committed to public service, community safety, and mental wellness. Having seen and experienced firsthand the impact of operational stress and trauma throughout his career, Dave brings both personal insight and professional leadership to the importance of mental health support. He is a strong advocate for compassionate leadership and continues to champion programs that foster connection, resilience, and recovery.

Elizabeth Clark joined the Pathways board in 2020, inspired by the tangible, community-level supports provided by the organization to support mental wellness in Richmond.

Elizabeth works in marketing consulting and has over 20 years of marketing and management experience across multiple industries, including not-for-profit. She is the founder and director of Canopy Collective, a marketing agency specializing in providing strategic-level support and services.

Mari is a passionate mental health advocate and has been involved in the clubhouse community since 2015. As a former program staff, Mari now works in public health promoting mental health for children and youth. He continues to leverage his experience at Pathways and is excited to give back to the Clubhouse community by sharing his enthusiasm for mental health promotion, education, intersectoral partnerships and community engagement.

CJ Ellison has been an active member of Pathways Clubhouse since 2011. With a professional background spanning landscape design to video production and editing, CJ’s creative approach to both work and life has enriched the Clubhouse community in countless ways. A prolific writer, CJ regularly contributes articles to Pathways’ monthly news magazine and other Clubhouse publications, showcasing both keen insight and a flair for storytelling.

Over the years, CJ has experienced firsthand the many ways in which Pathways Clubhouse supports its members—from assistance with obtaining a passport to help with veterinary care for a beloved cat, as well as guidance in securing housing. Now, as a board member, CJ values the opportunity to collaborate on the Clubhouse’s future, drawing on personal experiences to ensure that member voices are heard and needs are met. CJ is honored to serve as a vital bridge between the Clubhouse community and the Board of Directors.

During her final years of university, Michelle worked as a summer student for Pathways. Upon graduation from UBC and for the following 7 years, Michelle worked for MPA as a mental health outreach worker, and currently works as a manager with Community Corrections. She feels honored to be able serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Pathways and has witnessed first-hand the good work Pathways does for its members and the community.

Martin is a lifelong Richmond resident and Human Resources professional. He is deeply committed to serving Richmond’s community, volunteering with initiatives that support newcomers, families, and marginalized groups. Martin champions programs that foster connection, resilience, and well-being, and remains dedicated to helping Richmond grow as a caring and inclusive city.

Kelly Shone has worked in the food & wellness industry for over 20 years, holding various roles in marketing, innovation and R&D. Driven by a passion for mental health advocacy, community engagement, and fostering supportive environments, Kelly aims to leverage her experience in team building, strategic growth, and community outreach to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s goals and the well-being of its members.
